2021 has proven to be a big year of acquisitions and consolidation in the marine aquarium industry. Bertram Capital first acquired Bulk Reef Supply in early 2021. Then Bulk Reef Supply buys out competitor Marine Depot. Neptune Systems then merges with Bulk Reef Supply. It has been rumored since late September 2021, that Ecotech Marine had also been bought up (e.g. on Humble.Fish), but nothing official was released until November 2nd, 2021.
Officially, details remain limited to a brief news release published on the company news portion of the Ecotech Marine website; neither the Neptune Systems nor Ecotech Marine acquisitions are listed on the Bertram Capital website at this time.
