Contestants compete in two categories (Small or Large Tank) for $3,900 in prize money. Registration for individual Small Tank entries will be accepted until the 25 spaces are filled, and the Large Tank category is an AGA Team Invitational, with eight final entries chosen from all submissions.
And, finally, the 2nd International Shrimp Contest USA will give shrimp breeders the opportunity to share their hobby with the greater public and exhibit different freshwater dwarf shrimp species and color morphs across ten categories. Contestants compete for $1,000 in prize money and the top Shrimp KingAward. The competition is sponsored by Dennerle, JBJ Transworld Aquatic, ShrimpKing, and the WPA. Aquatic Experience – Chicago is the first show in industry history to combine everything aquatic under one roof, from saltwater and freshwater fish to marine plants and mammals. While most niche aquatic shows have little to no crossover of knowledge or techniques in different aspects of the hobby, at Aquatic Experience – Chicago guests can learn from the best in the industry as they attend seminars featuring high-profile speakers who address the beginner to mid-level hobbyists in areas that are entirely new to them.
Attendees will also experience the traveling sea lion show Sea Lion Splash, sponsored by Aqueon/Coralife/Kent Marine, and see displays of fish from around the world to delight and inspire aquarists of all levels.
Tickets for Aquatic Experience – Chicago, Nov. 3-5, 2017, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center (1551 Thoreau Drive N, Schaumburg, IL) are now on sale.
